(she/her)
Jessica was raised in Texas but is originally from Mexico and is a proud DACA Dreamer. Jessica’s educational and work background is in mental health and social work and spent four years at S.S. Conner Elm. as their Community Liaison. During her time at Conner, Jessica grew to love and know the Owenwood families and community and advocates for the needs to help it flourish. When not working, Jessica loves to read and enjoys traveling with her two wonderful toddlers.
Janice gary
Diapers Etc. Coordinator (she/her)
Janice is full of love, joy, smiles, laughter, and loves to serve God's people. Janice started out receiving diapers in 2018, but as time went on and Diapers Etc grew, she saw a need for more volunteers. Since all the volunteers were friendly and loving, she knew she wanted to be part of that. So Janice asked the magic question, "Can I volunteer?" Janice also serves and worships at One Generation Church in her free time.
Esther Romero
Program Director (she/her)
Esther was raised in Texas but originally from Nicaragua. She recently got her bachelor’s degree in Public Health at UNT Dallas. Before Owenwood, Esther was the Membership/Special Events Coordinator for a nonprofit (FRI). She looks forward to learning different ways to serve the community through her experience at Owenwood. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her family or soaking up the sun.
